We redefined the services together with the provider and launched the first cloud marketplace in Belarus.

The challenge

To develop a cloud marketplace.

For a long time, we used to consider everything in a "cloud" as something highly specialized. Only fast-growing companies could see the benefits of cloud hosting, and only young and tech ones were brave enough to keep accounting in a cloud.

It’s time to get the clouds down to the ground and put it simply. Especially since hoster.by is about to launch 8 brand-new products.

Structure first. Then design

It was pretty tricky to find a cloud section on the website before. Cloud hosting was always in the main menu, but you had to dig to find such products as cloud accounting or document management.

So we decided to get all the solutions together: both existing ones and the set that’s about to be launched.
Then we analyzed their business roles.
We grouped all the products into categories: collaboration, security, cost savings, etc.
Finally, we placed the categories on the main page of the catalog.

We split information for tech guys and managers

Cloud solutions are primarily aimed at executives and technicians. The first group appreciates cost reduction and flexibility, the second ones are going to enjoy virtual machine templates, reliability, and simple management.

The idea to make services visible pops up. It will definitely help with both navigation and promotion. Each category turns into a theme island. The whole “archipelago” forms a cloud cluster.

We created cute creatures that are going to keep their eyes on stable and secure work of all the services. In addition to this, they'll help to explain how particular products work.

We put a new civilization on the cover page

The inhabited islands take their places at the top of the marketplace. We added a slight animation and the whole cyber-urban thing gets the right atmosphere.

We load the generator of the cloud world

Combinatorics is the core of the illustrations. This approach gives you an infinite number of variations, that are original and recognizable.

The illustrations work perfectly on both dark and light backgrounds.

How cloud accounting works

We built animated illustrations for each product. A quick glance at the picture, where office life runs around the 1C “sacred crystal”, is enough to guess — we’re going to talk about accounting in the cloud here.

We built in brief descriptions and added some graphic elements to sharpen sections.

Block structure simplifies creating product pages. Each block is a stand-alone module, that can be easily removed or replaced.

This element was made to configure your own virtual machine with custom settings. The calculator allows creating any cloud while changing such parameters like CPU power, RAM, etc.
